For the 2026 Syllabus (Units GIC1 & GIC2)
Assessment Type: GIC1 is Scenario-based Open Book Exam and for GIC2 Practical Risk Assessment
Key Change: In the new syllabus, the practical unit (GIC2) moves from a simple “Pass/Refer” to a points-based marking system with a fixed pass mark of 60%
Results Timeline: You will receive your results 60 working days after the exam date . For the 2026 syllabus, results for both units are released on the same day .
Qualification Period: You have 5 years to pass both units from the date you pass your first unit .
Certificates: Once you pass both units, your qualification parchment is typically issued within 20 working days of the final result notification .

Distinction: 75+
Credit: 65 – 74
Pass: 45 – 64
